A 19-year-old from Lake Havasu City was arrested Thursday in the slaying of a Mesa man that occurred earlier this week. On Wednesday, Mesa police officers responded to a residence near Broadway and Power roads in Mesa for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived just after 7:30 p.m., they located 44-year-old Jacques Bourdeau inside the home with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Mesa police. Officers spoke to witnesses at the home and learned that a young man, later identified as 19-year-old Elliot Bennett, came to the residence after contacting Bourdeau over the phone.
